CURRICULUM
OBJECTIVE # 1 ALIGNMENT OF THE MATH CURRICULUM:
The Curriculum Coordinator and Building Administrators will work with teachers and the curriculum committee to align the Math curriculum to the common core standards by September 1, 2013 (Completed 9/13)
OBJECTIVE # 2 ALIGNMENT OF THE READING/ELA CURRICULUM
The Curriculum Coordinator and Building Administrators will work with teachers and the curriculum committee to align the Reading/ELA curriculum to the common core standards by September 1, 2014. A meeting schedule will be set at the beginning of the 2013 school year to work on the ELA/Reading curriculum. Minutes will be taken during the meetings to document progress and plan for future meetings. (Completed 9/14)
OBJECTIVE # 3 ALIGNMENT OF THE SCIENCE CURRICULUM
The Curriculum Coordinator and Building Administrators will work with teachers and the curriculum committee to align the science curriculum to the Next Gen Standards by September 1, 2015. (Completed 9/15)
OBJECTIVE # 4 ASSESSMENT TOOLS
The Curriculum Coordinator will develop a list of the Assessment tools which are being used in AOS # 47 by September 1, 2013 with a process for evaluating and adjusting the subject curriculum. (Completed 9/13)
OBJECTIVE # 5 ASSESSMENT OF CURRENT TEACHING STRATEGIES AND CURRICULUM
Teachers will receive training to develop differentiation strategies that will successfully meet the needs of every child in the classroom. (Ongoing)
OBJECTIVE # 6 PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATIVE RELATIONSHIPS
The Curriculum Coordinator will schedule at least two meetings during the 2013 - 14 school year to continue developing partnerships and collaborative relationships with area secondary schools to ensure “Common Core” standard alignment Pre-K to 12. (Completed 9/14)
OBJECTIVE # 7 TEACHER TRAINING
Training opportunities will continue with PREP. Resources and training are shared between Dedham and Orrington. Collaboration with outside districts will be ongoing. (Ongoing)
OBJECTIVE #8 KEYS TO ACADEMIC SUCCESS
By September 1, 2015 a committee of staff and parents will be established to identify the initial “Keys to Academic Success” so that every student of AOS# 47 will be prepared to be successful beyond Elementary School. (In Progress)
